Mixing Desk for iPhone and iPad, by Kernow Labs. Last updated 12 October 2026.
The short version
- Your audio, your recordings and your projects stay on your device. We never receive them.
- The app has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.
- The only time the app uses the network is to talk to Apple's App Store about the Mix Down purchase.
- We only learn anything about you if you choose to email us.
Who we are
Mixing Desk is made by Kernow Labs. For anything in this policy, write to support@kernowlabs.com.
What the app stores, and where
Everything you make in Mixing Desk is kept in the app's own storage on your device:
- the audio you import and the takes you record;
- your projects, mixer settings, snapshots and mixdowns;
- a few preferences, such as your audio buffer size and which plugins you have starred.
None of this is sent to us or to anyone else. If you use iCloud or computer backups, Apple may include the app's data in your device backup under your own Apple Account; that is between you and Apple, and we have no access to it.
Deleting a project in the app deletes its audio. Deleting the app deletes everything it stored.
The microphone
The app asks for microphone access the first time you arm a channel for recording. It is used only to record and monitor audio on the channels you arm. Recordings are saved to your device and go nowhere else. You can withdraw the permission at any time in Settings.
The Mix Down purchase
Mixing Desk is free to use, with one optional in-app purchase that unlocks saving a finished mix. The purchase is handled entirely by Apple. To check whether you own it, and to complete or restore a purchase, the app contacts the App Store. This is the app's only network activity.
We do not receive your name, your Apple Account, your payment details or your address. Apple gives developers sales totals that do not identify individual customers. Apple's handling of your purchase is covered by Apple's privacy policy.
What we do not do
- We do not collect usage data, crash reports or diagnostics of our own from the app.
- We do not use advertising or third-party analytics libraries.
- We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
- We do not sell or share personal data, because we do not hold any from the app.
If you have agreed to share analytics with developers in your device's Settings, Apple may show us anonymous, aggregated crash and usage figures. They do not identify you.
Plugins from other companies
Mixing Desk can host Audio Unit plugins that you have installed from other developers. Those plugins are separate apps made by other companies. They run their own code and are covered by their own privacy policies, not this one. The seventeen effects that come with Mixing Desk are ours, work entirely on your device and use no network.
If you contact us
When you email support we receive what you send:
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Your email address | So that we can reply. |
| App version, device model, iOS version | Filled in for you when you use Email Support in the app, so we can reproduce a problem. You can delete these lines before sending. |
| Anything else you include | To help with your question. |
We use this only to answer you and to fix problems in the app. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in supporting the people who use our software. Support email is kept for as long as it is useful for that purpose and no longer than two years, unless you ask us to delete it sooner. It is held by our email provider on our behalf and is not shared with anyone else.
This website
These pages set no cookies and load no third-party scripts, fonts or trackers. Like any website, the server that delivers them may keep a short-lived technical log of requests, including IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting.
Children
Mixing Desk is a general audience app. It does not ask for or collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Your rights
If you have emailed us, you can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to our keeping it. Write to support@kernowlabs.com and we will act on it within one month. If you are in the UK or the EU you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority; in the UK that is the Information Commissioner's Office.
Changes to this policy
If the app ever starts handling data differently, this page will change before that version is released, and the date at the top will change with it.
